Improving Global Health: Focusing on Quality and Safety

Harvard University via edX

Overview

Improving access to healthcare is only as useful as the quality of care provided. Many agree that quality is important – but what is it? How do we define it? How do we measure it? And most importantly, how might we make it better?

The course is designed for those who care about health and healthcare and wish to learn more about how to measure and improve that care – for themselves, for their institutions, or for their countries. Each session will be interactive and provide concrete tools that students can use. We will empower you to raise questions, propose concrete solutions, and promote change.

We have assembled leading thinkers from around the globe – not only people who are experts – but people with real, hands-on experience running organizations, hospitals, and ministries of health. So join us – whether you are a physician, nurse, or other healthcare provider, if you are a student of medicine, public health, or health policy, or a patient who simply cares about getting good care – this course is for you.

I am Health Project coordinator working in South Sudan aged 52 years with good experience in health project management that includes improvement of quality in health care service delivery. I would like to undertake this course to enrich and build my capacity by a way of wanting to gain more knowledge in thematic areas and components that constitute quality of care. This will also provide an opportunity for me to share what we practice here in South Sudan and compare with Global acceptable standards of practice. However, currently i am having some challenge logging in to access the relevant learning materials for the course. Otherwise the course outline looks great
    Thanks

I'm Foday Farah kalma, from Sierra Leone West Africa, I'm 31 years old, currently attending at Teachers training college in Freetown, I'm interested in health courses, because since I'm a teacher dealing with children and parents with Co workers,I will serve as an instrument to advise about health, tell them what they should do and don't in order to keep them healthy.

Also in lighting them of how to prevent themselves from the emerging diseases, in regards with the above mentioned, I decided that edx is the answer, I'm kindly pleading to the management of your renowned company, to offer me this course, I'm quite sure, with this I will bring change in my community.
