This course explores how video games can be analyzed as persuasive paratexts, teaching students how to critically evaluate and understand the rhetorical power of video games. Students will learn to identify and analyze the persuasive elements within video games, develop skills in rhetorical analysis, and understand how video games can function as persuasive tools. The course employs a combination of lectures, readings, discussions, and hands-on analysis of video games. This course is designed for students interested in rhetoric, composition, media studies, and video game studies.
