Overview
This course covers the fundamental concepts of physical geology, aimed at providing science and engineering majors with a solid understanding of the Earth's processes. Students will learn about the formation of rocks, minerals, and landforms, as well as plate tectonics and geological time scales. The course will also cover topics such as earthquakes, volcanoes, and the rock cycle. Through lectures, lab work, and field trips, students will develop skills in rock and mineral identification, map reading, and interpreting geological data. This course is designed for science and engineering majors who require a strong foundation in physical geology.
