  • Hi. Principles of Project management is a featured course taught by Prof Sue Dawson, Polytechnic West, Australia. The course follows the PMBok (Project Management Body of Knowledge). The PMBok was developed by the PMI and is used widely by project managers to efficiently manage their projects. The course introduces the students to the management of the 9 knowledge areas applicable to a project - Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human resources, Communication, Risk , Procurement and Integration. Teaching is excellent. Course materials/ lecture notes are available for reference.

Very good teaser to the PM business.
It does not go into deep into the tools, but gives an outstanding overview at the projectcycle and a good hint of all it's processes.
The teacher is very good and easy to understand for us non- English speakers.

Thank you for the course (Principle project management) you prepared and the way the teachers presented it. I have already taken the course, and I am very interested in taking it again. Where can I get it?

    Best regards,

  • It's indeed an introduction course. Just talk in generalities. Supplement readings available for further understanding. You'd better have some experience before on a project to get a better impact from learning.

The courses is very comprehensive and I am applying it now to my current work which basically covers the entire operational management of my office. I am however trying to get into my study centre to see again my modules, although, i have most of it copied on my notes, i wanted to see my standing and reprint atleast my scores and certificate. the site is no longer accessible, i hope they will consider putting the site back atleast for those who already completed courses. Aside from this course, i took up Conflict negotiation and Facilitation skills. i would love that site to come back again. Thank you very much
