##

This teachers’ CPD course is dedicated to exploring tech and soft skills for the 21st century and how to incorporate them into your English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classroom.

Focusing on professional practices outlined in the British Council’s teacher development framework, it will build your knowledge and confidence in:

Integrating ICT into the classroom Promoting 21st century skills Using multilingual approaches Understanding educational policies and practice

Promote tech and soft skills in your English classroom

Building the right skills to succeed in the 21st century is one of the biggest challenges facing educators. While ICT skills are important, so are critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. This course covers all of these skills and looks at how you can help your students build them while improving their English language.

Integrate new technology into your teaching practice

How can we use mobile phones to aid learning? And what is the best way to analyse teaching technology that will help your students develop English skills outside the classroom? This course covers a range of technology options and gives you the tools you need to find your own favourites.

Learn from experienced English teachers and grow your teaching resources

Your learning will be supported by video interviews with experienced teachers and downloadable teaching resources at every stage. You will also see classroom videos demonstrating how other teachers have put these techniques into action.

This course is aimed at English language teachers at all levels. You will need an intermediate level English (around B1 on the CEFR) in order to engage with the course materials.

This course was very useful for me. I have got a lot of information which allows me to become a better teacher than I am. We have disscussed the 21st century skills , why they are so important nowadays. The second week we learnt how to use technology in class to make our lessons more efficient. The third week was dedicated to children's rights . I have learnt new information about bullying and how prevent it. Discussion of the future of English and how to improve teaching if we know L1 of our students was also exciting. It was a pleasure to communicate with the colleagues all around the world, to read their comments , get likes and share experience. I feel I learn together with all world. English ruins all borders. Thank you a lot.

    Hi!

First of all, I am very grateful for providing such a great opportunity to develop our teaching profession. The course has really been great, informative and insightful. I personally learned a lot from the course mentors as well as the other participants. The links and the materials you've shared with us are rich and thought provoking. My apetite has increased for reading more and digging into the resources I have saved and downloaded. The videos of outstanding educational practitioners like David Chrystal are engaging and motivational. To sum up, it's been an exciting learning experience!

    Thank you British Council

By taking this online course I have learned about the new skills for 21st century learners.Students that think critically and enjoy problem solving.Young learners that learn collaboratively forming groups or teams that help and support one another being able to communicate effectively for achieving goals together. In doing so learners have to know how to use digital tools and make use of creativity and imagination. When these learners are adults they will have to apply what they learned to live in a similar way within a community.

the course is ideal for a teacher who has been kind of stagnating in the same profession for a very long time. It is an eye-opener for teachers who have been working without thinking about the objectives and the changing goals and perspectives.
