Fundamentals of GIS

Written 2 years ago
It's a great course for beginners. If you're interested in GIS you should definitely take this course. The forum is very active and the instructor answers to doubts there.

Municipal Solid Waste Management in Developing Countries

Written 2 years ago
The exams are really easy and short but the lessons are long, the weeks are loaded with 6 to 7 videos of 10-15 min each. It is packed with information and they also share good sources to deepen your understanding.

Análisis de Sistemas de Transporte

Written 2 years ago
It is condensed but it's the only course I found that gives an overview of Transport Systems. It has more theory than I was expecting and some exercises to practice, but as an introduction to the subject it's good.

Greening the Economy: Sustainable Cities

Written 2 years ago
This is given in the same style as 'Lessons from Scandinavia' and has the same difficulty. I really liked it because it makes emphasis on what we can accomplish from the cities and gives examples from different continents.

Introduction to Urban Resilience with HAZUR

Written 2 years ago
I don't really like this platform overall. The course was based on some long readings and the quizzes about it. I felt like it was more a propaganda to take the official HAZUR course and get certified.

Management of Urban Infrastructures – part 1

Written 2 years ago
This has been one of my favorite moocs ever. The course tries to give a comprehensible overview of what it means to manage urban infrastructures and to understand your city a bit more along the way. I hope they make a second part.

Greening the Economy: Lessons from Scandinavia

Written 2 years ago
This course gives an introduction to the 'Green Economy' and presents a lot of examples of what it means ans how it's being put to practice in Nordic countries. The lessons are easy and enjoyable but the readings give a more in depth explanation if that's what you want.

Fun with Prime Numbers: The Mysterious World of Mathematics

Written 2 years ago
The course was easy at the beginning, but then the assignments became a bit more complex. You definitely need a programming background to do get the answers (it would take forever to perform the calculation by hand) and that is not stated at first, hence the 3 stars.

Effects of Radiation: An Introduction to Radiation and Radioactivity

Written 2 years ago
Really good course about radiation and radioactivity. I had a bit of previous knowledge on the topic so I didn't find it that hard.

Global Warming I: The Science and Modeling of Climate Change

Written a year ago
It has a great content and the teacher gives good explanations but in the quizzes you have to use climate models from certain websites and if you have a very slow internet connection (like me) sometimes they just don't work, that means you don't have the answer to the questions and that is frustrating.

Database Management Essentials

Written a year ago
Really good course. If you are a beginner or self-taught in SQL, this 'fills' some holes about databases. The difficult part for me were the ERDs I suggest you practice them a lot if you've never used them before.

Wind Energy

Written a year ago
This course is very condensed, there are two modules per week and the quizzes are difficult in comparison to what they give in the lectures. If you have a basic math or engineering background you'll be fine, but still it's hard.
