Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python)

Written 11 months ago
I thoroughly enjoyed this course. Dr Chuck does a great job of presenting the material and explaining the concepts being presented. It is clear that he and others at the University of Michigan have spent a lot of time understanding how to teach at scale. The course is very well designed: the lectures are focused, engaging and not too long; the assignments make you think but aren't too hard, which gives you a sense of achievement and the accompanying (free!) e-textbook is well-written. Thanks Dr Chuck and all who put it together!

Python Data Structures

I thoroughly enjoyed this course and highly recommend it. Dr Chuck does a wonderful job of explaining the material. The lectures are always easy to follow, focused and engaging. And I think the exercises have a good balance between being easy enough to succeed at while still making you think carefully about how to solve the problem being presented. The trouble shooting tips are great too, I learned a lot from those. Dr Chuck makes learning Python a pleasure.

Using Python to Access Web Data

Written 10 months ago
Another thoroughly enjoyable Python course from Dr Chuck and the team at the University of Michigan. As with the preceding two courses in the Python for Everybody specialisation, the course is very well structured and the exercises and assignments are set a level that provide a challenge without being intimidating for beginners. But best of all, Dr Chuck makes the experience of learning Python exciting and a lot of fun.

Using Databases with Python

This course maintains the high standard set in all the preceding courses in the specialization. It's great fun, the lectures and assignments are pitched at a good level. They're engaging, really informative and make exploring Python a pleasure. I found the final assignment a little bit too easy but it was still a useful and interesting exercise. And the peer-grading aspect is a good idea, encourages some interaction between students.
