Using Python to Access Web Data

Written 2 years ago
I've been writing in Python for over a year now, but wanted to go back and learn more about the language. This is my third Dr. Chuck course on Coursera and, once again, I am surprised with how much I learned. I highly recommend this course... especially for anyone new to Python and/or computer science.

Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure

Written 7 months ago
It seems that Coursera was used as a channel to get people to codelabs.developers.google.com where the labs are. The course only shows 1 week and it's easy to lose your spot because of the dozens of tabs for each module (varying between 2 minutes and 10 minutes). The presentation is stale... although this isn't uncommon for this kind of material. But I enjoyed the hands-on labs. Excellent explanations and details. I didn't have any trouble.

All-in-all, this course helped introduce me to Google Cloud Platform but more effort could've been put into it.

Machine Learning

Written 7 months ago
A phenomenal starter course for Machine Learning. The professor is able to go deep without making it too complicated. I was impressed at the quality of teaching, subject matter covered, and exercises. I took the course in 2017 and there have been advancements/developments of some of the tech since the course was recorded. Nevertheless, for an introductory course to machine learning, this is the one to take.

Genes and the Human Condition (From Behavior to Biotechnology)

Written 3 months ago
This was my first course -- ever-- on genetics or biology (excluding gradeschool). I enjoyed the subject matter but the teaching style was old, mundane, and different to follow. The information wasn't presented in "chunks" but rather a continuous, unorganized stream. I'd bet there's a better introductory out there.
