Gamification

Written 3 years ago
If you are someone who is just looking to learn more about the concepts of gamification and how it is applied, this course is an excellent introduction. It has been a while since I took the course, but gamification as an idea has stuck with me. The information is presented in a an engaging way by Professor Werbach and the workload is not that difficult, but engaging enough.

If you are looking for something that is going to teach you how to practically apply the principles of gamification, this probably isn't what you are looking for.

The Data Scientist’s Toolbox

Written 3 years ago
This course essentially is just a walkthrough of the different programs that you will be utilizing throughout the rest of the Data Science Specialization (if you are continuing with the other courses). The fact that they allow you to pay for this course is a joke because you are taught next to nothing except how to install programs. If you plan on finishing the entire Specialization, then perhaps paying for it will benefit you in the long run. Otherwise, the class is easy, does not take much time, and sets you up to continue with the other courses.

Financial Literacy

Written 2 years ago
This class is great for a very basic introduction to Financial Literacy. It gives you the framework from which to build a financial plan for your life including learning how to save, how to create a budget, and how to invest. It is not a very in depth course, which is the only downfall to it, and it only takes probably an hour an a half for each week of work. But Professor Mordaunt is concise and at times entertaining.

Inspiring Leadership through Emotional Intelligence

Written 2 years ago
This class has been one of the best courses I have taken so far online and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has an interest in psychology, self-discovery, and theories of change.. While the title of the course may come off as a bunch of buzz word ideas, the content of the course is highly focused on developing an understanding of self in relation to a particular leadership theory. After developing a sense of self, the student is encouraged to explore where they want to be going, how they can achieve that, how it looks within organization, and how to make sustained change on that level. Dr. Boyatzis provides very clear and concise lectures during the course with assignments that are invaluable to the course as a whole.
