I work in the video game industry as a producer. I joined this field only recently (I'm nearing one year in production experience), but I've been in the industry since 2010, where I started as a Account and Technical Services representative at Blizzard Entertainment. • • • My unending curiosity leads me to become obsessed with all kinds of different things, and I've found that (when I have the time) MOOCs are a great avenue to learn something new in a way that is better structured than me scouring the internet, trying to learn all I can from one link to another. It also provides a valuable social aspect; I can participate in group discussions, peer reviews, and Q&A events with my classmates and professor(s). • • • One of my current, ongoing obsessions is with librarial and archival science. One of my dreams would be to work in the game industry as a special collections librarian, or as an archivist. Unfortunately, these jobs are few and far between. For the time being, I'm enjoying working in production while I continue to develop new skills and refine pre-existing ones.
