I took this course as I was preparing to return to university. It has been 10 years since I completed my distance learning masters programme. As I am returning for a second (on campus) masters programme, I was anxious, to say the least, about my ability to learn a different subject area after so long, much less retain and excel.
After the first week of this course, I already felt better. Some of the techniques mentioned were similar to what I had unknowingly used in high school. Bringing them back to memory with scientific explanations as to why these and other new methods work were major confidence boosters for me.
Putting them into practice before starting school only served to prove their value even more. I appreciate all the time and effort that the course directors and various contributors put into this MOOC. I have shared it with many friends and hope they take it as well.
I also found great value in the optional videos and some of the readings. I recommend that anyone who does this course browse those options for areas of interest. Some real gems to be mined there.
