Introduction to Programming with MATLAB

Written 2 years ago
I'm on the 3rd week of the course. Wow, the course is fantastic! The instructor is among the best I've seen:

1. You'll see from the start - an instructor is ultra-professional in both programming AND teaching.

2. Difficulty goes gradually from low to high and the pace is just optimal.

2. Every example shows some specific and important aspect. As a result, each example teaches something important.

3. Many aspects and pitfalls are explained by using examples where errors are made on purpose. The instructor attempts braking the standard rules and shows what happens then.

4. The instructor uses humor, which keeps my smiling and enjoying the course!

That's my impression during the Week 3.

Introduction to Differential Equations

Written 2 years ago
A great course! One of the best I have ever seen.

1. The course progresses systemically from simple to more complex with comprehensive explanations and examples that illustrate the concept being explained. For me the pace is optimal.

2. Perfect combination of theory, conceptual quizzes, examples to be solved by hand and examples to be solved in MATLAB.

3. Professor has a nice sense of humor and adds jokes where suitable. This makes this course not only valuable, but also enjoyable.

My sincere gratitude to prof. Paul Blanchard and his team at Boston University!

P.S. I have market the course difficulty as "easy" because if you have no problem differentiating and integrating then this course just teaches you new ways of applying these concepts to solve differential equations.

Customer Analytics

Written a year ago
Do not expect any quantitative material in the lecture videos despite the "analytics" in its title. If you don't, then this course will provide you with a good overview of customer analytics, including terminology and intuition. Despite the fact that I was looking for a quantitative course, I really enjoyed it.

For those interested in the probabilistic models behind the material covered, you will be provided with a link to a scientific paper (Customer-Base Analysis in a Discrete-Time) which describes the model in details. Above that it provides a detailed instruction for implementing it in both Excel and Matlab. This is a valuable paper.
