If you want to learn some Statistical Physics from one of the masters, and end up with some working and useful code, plus, a lot of questions, more things to learn, and tons of problems to solve, go for it. It's amazing how W. Krauth moves back and forth from the mathematical notation and the physical notions to clear and concise algorithms. Always taking into account and explaining the subtleties of the process.

The best course I've taken. Simply excellent.

Very entertaining. Both challenging and fun.

Can be useful to get the gist of programming and algorithms, learn some advanced Python tricks, and find some nice general solutions to problems and puzzles of varying difficulty.

I didn't anticipate the sheer amount of homework, and couldn't complete it due to prior commitments. If you're willing to spend 20 hours per week on average studying and solving Quantum Mechanics problems, go for it, it's worth it.

Great second part of the MITx 8.05x series, in which the uncertainty principle is introduced, along with the Heisenberg picture, coherent and squeezed states of the Harmonic Oscillator, photon states, an explanation of Masers, and NMR.

Third part of MITx 8.05x series of lectures on Quantum Mechanics, in which entanglement and angular momentum are thoroughly explained and exemplified. Multi-particle systems and tensor products, Bell's inequality, addition of angular momentum, spin-orbit coupling, the full spectrum of the Hydrogen atom, and much more.
