The 1st Asia-Pacific MOOCs Stakeholders Summit Takes Place in Thailand

Memorandum of Understanding for collaboration signed between JMOOC, K-MOOC, and ThaiMOOC

Last month on March 2 and 3, the 1st Asia-Pacific MOOCs Stakeholders Summit took place in Bangkok, Thailand. The summit is a successor to the Asia Regional MOOC Stakeholders Summit 2015.

It was organized by UNESCO Bangkok and three national partners: JMOOC, K-MOOC, and ThaiMOOC. The video recording of all the sessions can be found here.

The two major highlights of the summit were the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the three national partners and the launch of ThaiMOOC.

The summit also saw the launch of ThaiMOOC, the official MOOC platform for Thailand. The ThaiMOOC platform is built on Open edX and currently lists around 50 courses. Hopefully, Class Central will have information about the ThaiMOOC project in the near future.

The next iteration of this summit will take place in the Republic of Korea in 2018.
