Designing, Building, & Running an edX Course

via edX Professional Certificate

Overview

The Designing, Building, and Running an edX Course program provides edX partners and anyone interested in creating a course on the edX platform the knowledge and skills needed to create an effective course. There are no prerequisites for this program, you only need access to the edx.org platform.

The three courses in the program are aligned with the phases of course creation that a course team will need to complete.

The first course in the series is Designing a Course with edX, which is grounded in pedagogical principles to ensure that your course’s design is aligned with learning theory and best practices in online learning.

The second course is Building a Course with edX, which provides an in-depth look at edX Studio, edX’s course authoring tool. You will learn how to use Studio to create your course, and add a wide variety of rich content and assessments.

The third course is Running a Course with edX, which covers the process of launching a course, as well as the processes you’ll need to follow during the course run. Additionally, you’ll learn how to improve your course with edX Insights, as well as the steps to take when your course’s run is ending. Each course uses rich media and interactive content to reinforce learning, and also provides references to relevant edX how-to documentation when needed.
