Capstone: Maternal and Child Health

Overview

During this capstone experience, learners will synthesize and apply knowledge through in-depth exploration of contemporary maternal and child health challenges nationally and globally. Using problem-solving methodologies, learners will:

  1. examine the Girl Rising case study on the health and well-being of adolescent girls globally;
  2. examine the intersection between women’s health and women's labor force participation and economic empowerment;
  3. identify current climate change issues facing maternal and child health populations and learn to communicate policy or programmatic solutions through developing an Op-Ed; and
  4. examine black maternal health in the U.S. and develop a logic model for an evidence-based intervention.
