This interdisciplinary Professional Certificate Program in FinTech technology will increase your understanding about the core technologies that are driving FinTech today, as well as the opportunities and challenges that advanced FinTech technology and digital currency have brought to the revolutionary e-Payment landscape and critical FinTech regulatory landscape. You will learn about the security of e-Money and digital currency transactions, as well as monitoring from technological and regulatory perspectives, from prominent FinTech technology and RegTech leaders, academics and practitioners in the region and the world.

The Professional Certificate Program provides candidates a good overview on the technologies behind FinTech, digital currency, and e-payment, which will be critical components in the Web3 age. The program's three courses will help you grasp the potential opportunities, risks, and issues connected with advanced technologies, as well as, the significance of a solid technological and legal regulatory framework governing the primary technologies involved, as well as emerging business models and industry actors. The concept of "guaranteed by technology" is becoming more essential, for example, embedding regulations within a smart contract to ensure the rules are complied; in the course, we will learn how technology and legal regulations operate together.

Each course brings together leading experts in FinTech from a range of backgrounds, including leading FinTech academics and researchers in FinTech technology and RegTech and industry leaders and practitioners, among others Professor SM Yiu and Professor Douglas Arner of HKU and HKU–SCF FinTech Academy, leaders from HK Standard Chartered Bank, Mox bank, Alipay and more. Over each week of each course, you will gain greater understanding of the key trends in finance, technology and regulation, to better prepare for not only the opportunities but also the risks and challenges, including to traditional financial institutions and business models and those working in them.
