via Pluralsight

Overview

Projects offer unique value to organizations, but the structure and approach of each project can vary widely. In this course, you'll learn how to tailor your project management approach to best fit your organization’s needs and objectives.

Fully aligned with the 6th Edition of the PMBOK® Guide and the latest PMP® standards, this course, Organizational Influences & Project Management Lifecycle builds on the foundations set in Introduction to Project Management & the PMP® Exam, looking at the role projects play in organizations. In this course, you'll learn how project teams can create unique value, how the structure and culture of organizations can impact how project teams are formed, managed, and complete work, and how a project manager’s approach can be tailored to best fit their organizational environment. You’ll also be introduced to a variety of project management methodologies, and learn how to choose the one that best fits your organization’s structure and objectives. Finally, you’ll see how project management processes can be sorted into process groups and knowledge areas, and how each of these processes can play a critical role in successfully managing your project team. By the end of this course, you’ll have the foundation necessary to begin a deeper dive into each of ten project management knowledge areas, which are the focus for the remainder of this learning path.
