This course covers the origins of lava and magma, including how magmas form, different types of magma, and their relationship to lavas and mineral deposits. The course teaches about decompression melting, magmatic differentiation, assimilation, magma mixing, evolution of magmas, intrusive igneous activity, plutonic igneous activity, mineral resources and igneous processes, volcanoes, and plate tectonics.
