Overview
This course on Urban Pipe Network Modelling aims to teach participants the hydraulic calculations necessary for modeling pipe networks. The course covers topics such as the Manning equation, kinetic energy losses, energy losses, flow capture, and surcharging. Participants will learn about 1D underground stormwater pipe networks and 2D above-ground inundation modeling. The teaching method includes theory sessions, hands-on modeling, demonstrations, and the use of GIS tools for data quality control and hydraulic results checking. This course is intended for professionals involved in urban flood risk quantification, pipe network infrastructure design, and stormwater management.
